Groin Ultrasounds,  the majority of which are for suspected hernia, either direct femoral, inguinal hernia, fat peritoneal, or bowel loop containing hernia are examined with valsalva technique/ cough to classify the type of hernia.

Injuries/ strains of the adductor muscle group are also an indication for groin ultrasound/ upper inner thigh.

No preparation is required for this ultrasound examination.
