DDH  = is Developmental Dysplasia of the Hips.

(CHD = is Congenital Hip Dislocation , and is another name for DDH.)

DDH occurs when a child is born with an unstable hip. It’s caused by abnormal or delayed formation of the hip joint during their early stages of fetal development.  This instability worsens as your child grows if untreated .

A midwife, doctor or specialist pediatrician may notice uneven creases or clicky hips, as an indication for ultrasound.

The degree of instability is classified according to severity.
