DVT (Deep Venous Thrombosis):  is a clot in the veins, typically of the leg. These can occur due to many factors, such as trauma, long stay in bed, blood clotting factors, prolonged oedema, infection, inflammation, poison, family genetics, and  drug-induced thrombocytosis.  It basically means that blood has coagulated and blocked the vein.

It is sometimes partial blockage, and sometimes complete blockage. However, either can be dangerous:-

VTE- Venous thromboembolism is when a blood clot in the deep veins of the leg or arm travels to the lungs, forming a pulmonary embolism (PE). This stops the blood flow to this part of the lung that can cause permanent damage.

DVT can be stabilized, to prevent embolism, and ultimately dissolved.
