BREAST ULTRASOUND is an established, relatively comfortable way to study the breast parenchyma for lesions, abscess, mastalgia, dilated ducts, and other pathology.

Lymph nodes are also assessed under the arnpit/ axilla.

If a breast mass requires further investigation, we can perform FNA / biopsy upon request from your doctor, for microscopic assessment.

In the male, differential diagnosis of gynaecomastia can be made (vs simple fatty tissue deposition, vs abscess deep to the nipple).

No preparation is required prior breast ultrasound. However, avoid clumpy deodorants- use simple soluble deodorants underarm.

Avoid any dodorants in the region of FNA/ Biopsy.
